Sump

When building a sump, should I make the return side larger than the skimmer side or does it really matter?

All of the evaporation will happen in the return side. I would definitely make it bigger(won't have to top it off as much). Are you going to make three sections so that you can have a fuge?

I don't think that It is large enough for a fuge, it's only a 10 gallon tank. I will probably try to make a HOB fuge or set a fuge on top of the sump, plenty of room on top just no length.

I used a 55 gallon plastic drum
2-1" discharges to filter units then sump
2-1" to sump
2-returns from a "t" 1"
pump is 2100 gph and sets flows
