Sumping a 72g Bowfront

For those that have, What's the largest tank you were able to fit under the stand? And yes, mine has the center brace.

I have a 20g that fits but, once the tank is on top it will not come out. I'm a little leary about putting it in there and then possibly having problems down the road with no other way to remve it than breaking down the display tank or breaking the sump tank to remove.

I realize I could make or have made a custom one, Would like to hear some other options..

also, What is really the smallest vessle, ingallons, that would be operational?

Thanks in advance

Ive got a 30" long by 11 1/2" deep by 11 3/4" high converted wet-dry under my 72 bowfront. It has been in there for 11 years and will be in there until the tank is taken out of service.

The setup has been fine, but I agree that not being able to get it out could be an issue. But it really has never been an issue. When necessary, I remove everything else and there is enough space to work on the sump.

on my 72 i wanted to put a sump underneath with the tank full
i put a 2x4 the the left of the front center brace then cut out the brace put in the sump which was a 29 gallon which is 30in long
then reinstalled the brace with angle brackets then removed the 2x4 worked perfectly for two years
