Sumpless 25G Tank..

So I'm going to be setting up a 25G cube pretty soon. I'm planning on using about 25 lbs of live rock and a 3-4 in DSB. I won't have a sump or a HOB refugium because I'm limited to room. However I will be using a HOB AquaC Remora Protien Skimmer. My question is, will that be enought filtration? I'm planning on doing a 10-15% water change every week as well. Thanks...

I keep a 10 gal with only a HOB AquaClear 50 filter, Live rock, and weekly 20% water changes and I keep fish, inverts, zoas, softies, LPS, SPS (montipora acropora species).

Your filtration needs depend on your livestock density and feeding levels.

Personally I would do a Reef Octopus HOB skimmer instead of an Aqua C. Yes it will be enough filtration and like Postyoa said you can even run a small tank with no skimmer and just a water movement and mechanical filteration. I ran a 6g Nano Cube for years with good success with only the stock filtration and no skimmer. You may also want to use less rock as well since 25lbs will fill up a 25G. Start out with 10-15lbs and see how you like it if you want more rock you can always add more.

Reason I have an AquaC Remora in mind is because I have a spare. For flow I will be using a MP10 and light eventually upgrade to LED fixture. I'm thinking a Kessil pendant. I'm downgrading from a 40G breeder to a 25G cube.. Keeping all my corals and like 2-3 fish.. Reason is I am moving...

My 29g is sumpless/skimmerless, no ATO,dosing pumps or fancy circulation pumps.
Just a hob filter w/chemipure elite & chemipure, a fluval 205 canister that im taking off-line, a couple koralias and soon to be reactor for GFO once I get a pump for it.
I do have good lights though..ATI SUNPOWER 4x24
