Sun Coral Help ASAP

I just picked up a sun coral from a fellow reefer. He said it was receding and not doing well so i went to pick it up and was shocked. Coral looks okay but there is algae EVERYWHERE! Looks to be hair algae and Red Velonia bubble algae. I'm at school now, as i picked it up on my break, but i will be heading home shortly. What do you think i should do?

unless your tank has conditions ripe for growing algae, I wouldnt be too worried. I assume you ask because you are afraid of introducing this stuff to the tank? I dare say you've already been exposed to many of these algaes if you've gotten corals from folks in the past, so I would probably just pick of the algae that's on the rock/coral and place it in the tank.

thanks for the reply. i was thinking this would be okay as long as i get everything off before i introduce it to the tank. thanks for the info :D

i'll keep you updated
