My sun coral looked great 3 months ago when i got it. Now the yellow tissue is regressed all the way to the tips. id say about a 1/8 to 1/4 of yellow tissue left at each head. Now what could cause this and will they die or repair? i didnt feed alot when i first got them but not long after and especially now i feed everyother night if not EVERY night with a mixture of marine snow, cycopleeze(spelling? lol) and mysis shrimp. everynight there fully extended and filter feeding.

they are in the center of my tank. I have 2 250mh fixture . all other corals look fine except some have a white film forming around the bases of a few. ??? any ideas..

yes.. i meant with the lighting could it be affecting it? to much or something? i make sure i feed every polyp several times.

the coral sits on the bottom dead center of the tank.. sorta under a rock at a angle. will the tissue come back if well fed?

Have you tested your nitrates and phosphates? Do you rinse your food off? any fish in the tank picking on the suncoral?

been working on the nitrates. 20 ppm now.. doing water change this weekend. how you wash frozen cubes of mysis? lol dumb question but i just put the cube in water then feed.. no fish picking on them.. any other ideas?

Increase amount of feeding, it should restore. And better to have some flow around.
To wash the frozen cube: take a kitchen plastic strainer (dollar store), put it in the small bowl (same source), add some water and put mysis or Ocean Plankton cube in the strainer. Within minute cube thaws, remove the strainer with mysis, discard the water. Use this mysis for a feeding.
