Orange Sun Coral, beautiful. I have some in a 10g tank.
Any tips with feeding and lighting?
Thanks,
Lisa

i had some in my old tank and had a hard time feeding it. my fish would steal the food out of its polyps. if you have fish make sure you feed them first that way they wont go after its food. i fed my sun coral a combo of mysis and enriched brine. hth

Also, I hope you know that they are aposymbiotic corals. They do not get any benefit from lighting. They rely entirely on feeding. Often it is necessary to start off either by feeding them at night (when their polyps are in feeding mode, typically) or by training them to open in the day. That can usually be accomplished by thawing out some brine shrimp in a glass of tank water and using a turkey baster to blow some of the "juice" onto the coral to provoke a feeding response.

Not an extremely difficult coral to keep once you have the feeding thing down, but that is more of a hassle than some people care to deal with. Good luck!

You can cut the top off a 1 liter soda bottle so that it fits over the coral and feed it that way.

Lighting makes no difference. I have trained mine to be open during the day, I have oranges and blacks. I feed mine squid and mysis with a pipette and use frozen cyclopeeze to get them to open up for dinner.

Thanks! I bought frozen food for them, I just got them today, interested on seeing what happens. :] Thanks a lot guys!
Lisa
