sun coral?

Sorry my camera skills aren't so hot; I need some time to play with the camera. I just snapped these a minute ago.

This was a pretty small frag when we got it at a frag swap for about $15. The first pic is what it looks like most of the time, with some tentacles partially out.

Next is after feeding it anything at all - all the polyps become fully extended as soon as it tastes food of any kind.

mikekman: my usual sun coral grows colony around the first polyp just like yours:

bbehring: I also fed the big sun coral colony in a separate container in the first days:

Only, being just a week as taken from ocean, it opened only after being shaded by newspaper from the lights above the table. Fed a couple of mysis cubes, with addition of some brine shrimp, heard that it tastes good, and some cyclop eeze. Total time in the container - from 40 min to 1 hr. Being in the middle of the food makes it open and staring to feed.

Later, until the tank with big skimmer come, did the same in the more permanent container:

When it starts to eat, you may feed in the tank. Container is just not to let it die ;)

Several months later:

This is daytime opening, after lights are off, it becomes huge (don't have the moonlights, can't make a photo, sorry).

Vikebron and Dendro982 -nice suncorals and great job keeping them alive, they are definitely doing very well for you.
