SunPod Lamps Marketing Claims

I recently special ordered a 1058 model SunPod 70W HQI for my custom refugium that is 16 X 16 X 20" Deep. The lamp will fit perfectly, however I noticed sun claims by Current_USA that caught my attention.

"""Unleash The Power Of The Sun & Moon
Produces more light than most 250 watt Metal Halides!

The SunPod produces an enormous amount of light and cuts through water to even the deepest depths. The PowerPaq 14,000k HQI metal halide(s) produce the energy your corals will need while the Moon White and/or Nocturnal Blue Lunar Lights let them relax and chill at night. Housed in a sleek aluminum enclosure and powered by our internal proprietary electronic driving system makes for a really cool fixture. Plug-and-Play mounting features allow the SunPod to be used on any tank."""

I assume they are referring to the 150w lamps. It seems like an odd statement when the lamps look good on their own.

as light penatrates water it looses powr so if you start with 70 watts on top on the bottom of the tank it will be much less the 250 would do alot better if you plan on keeping clams and sps i beleive that should help

have the sunpod 150w for 40 brdr , but upgraded the bulb.
believe me, that bulb is only as bright as a 250w halide, if the 250 isn't using a reflector, and a typically marked 20k/50k bulb.
i have the 20k iwasaki, looks more like 12k, and is MUCH brigher than there 14k.
with the iwasaki, it seems brighter than some 20k 250w Radiums i've seen, but no way to quantify it with a light meter.
