Sunrise/Sunset cycles?

Hello all,

I have a pair of gold stripped maroon clowns that have been together for at least three years. They host together, snuggle, protect each other, yadaa yadaa yadaa, but they do not spawn. I've been looking for ways to improve my system to try and entice them to spawn. These clowns are in my display tank. I am working on better feeding regiments and more stable water quality conditions, but I have the following questions, assuming all other conditions are favorable or at least not hindering spawning:

I just purchased a Neptune Aquacontroller Jr. One feature is that the controller can replicate the sunrise/sunset cycles throughout the year, i.e. allow the days to get longer during the summer than winter. I was planning to implement this program, but modify it so the light cycle max outs at about 9 hours and the short cycle is about 7 hours for the metal halides (VHO are on a few hours longer). I also have LED moon lights that currently are on for about 8 hours in the night, but the AC Jr. can also replicate the moon cycles.

Do you think there is any likely positive benefit to enticing the clowns to spawn with using these light cycle programs?

Next, the AC Jr. can also replicate the changing water temperatures throughout the year, altough again I will likely modify the program such that the low is near 78-79 degrees and the high is near 83 (as opposed to 75 and 85).

Do you suspect this will effect the clowns spawning?

I think it will help if you have some pairs, maroons take long to get to spawn, comercial hatcheries use natural light and temp fluctuations so maybe.

I strongly beleive changes trigger spawning in clowns, sometimes drastic ones.
