When mine started humming bad I had to replace the bearings. Which was pretty easy and cheap. Just don't buy them from reeflo. They are standard bearings that are easy to find and dirt cheap. In fact it takes the same bearings my router takes.
If a bit of salt water got on it or it's in a high humidity area. One of the only thing it can be is bearings cause it's brushless. The other thing to check is the fan blades on the end. There could be dirt in there or one of the fins could be rubbing. Other than something stuck in it that's my guesses
Its called a seal kit and your pump is under warranty. ..call chris at reflow and they will send you one ....I have two of these pumps ...one of them needed it and now its silent as can be......dont just use any old random parts unless you are out of warranty or you will void your warranty. ..always use the warranty parts first...
