super glue gel in the aquarium

Ive heard of gluing corals in the tank but can the super glue tube be submerged with no ill effects? Any help is appreciated

I wouldn't put the tube in the water simply because if water gets back into the tube then it would waste the rest o fthe super glue (i guess no big loss) but with most of them I have used I can put super glue on what ever i want together than then stick it into the water to glue it to a rock, then just hold it there for a minute longer than usual

Vspeck,

Sorry, I must have misread, Are you concerned about the aluminum tube itself? If, so I probably wouldn't feel secure letting it corrode away in the tank for a year but I've never heard of issues with submerging it for a few minutes to mount frags. Hope that helps.

Regardless, my technique is better anyway ;)

just to clarify...

only as long as the ingredient is Cyanoacrylate (typical superglue and superglue gel)

there are a few glues that use other things to make them super

but Cyanoacrylate glue is harmless to our tanks

Bradley Knowell what

All joking aside. Did you get your stuff taken care of? I need to get over there anyways and see the tank, drink some beer. I have that extra RO/DI you can have.

:D

yeah you do ! anytime!

And Yeah I totally need it I just didn't make it tonight, Im not sure why other than I got really LAZY

I'll give you a buzz in the next couple or call me. I wanted to ask you about my speaker options, etc... anyways.

I actually started using my skimmer today so I started my road to getting my tank back to normal :D

Thanks for the help. To clarify I know the glue itself is fine as I have used it many times but I have never submerged the bottle. I have a small patch of bubble algea and heard if you smother it with superglue gel it will come out in one piece but i cant take the rock out of the tank, So i was wondering if the aluminum bottle could be submerged. I have never had bubble algea before and want to get rid of it
