Super Glue Removal?????

I placed this in the DIY as I guess it is, but I got some Super glue gel on the top of the rim of my tank and want to remove it? Is there anything I can do to remove this safely?

Obviously without getting a chemical into the tank itself? What are my options?

Anyone?
Thanks
Spankey!

What's the rim made from? If it's metal or glass, I may just use a blade to "chip" it off (scraping). If it's plastic, I may try something similar, put pressure on the piece of glue and try to break it off the trim.

Go to your local hobby shop ... they usually carry super glue remover.

hobby shop as in the ones that sell RC cars/Planes/Boats .. model trains .. ... etc..etc..

Inside or outside of the tank?

If inside, flat razor blade and use water to lubricate the blade and prevent scratching.

If outside, use the remover or if it is on plastic, use a razor blade and some dawn dish soap... lubricates the blade and wipes off easy.

Use a razor or box knife blade and very carefully pry up under the edge of the glob and it probably will come off. If the plastic is wood grained, it may take the pattern off. SG typically doesn't stick to smooth plastic too well. But go slowly to avoid gouging your trim. Good luck!

stuff smells like fish oil - but I wouldn't trust an unkown chemical that close to my fish tank. - a blade can leave white marks if you are not skilled in plastics work but still the best option.
