Are those little guys in the pictures attached by *man* to the frag plug discs or are they simply self attached?

Don't know a lot about them yet but I just received a small Maxima and want to locate it in a good position.

It was my understanding that you can't/shouldn't glue or epoxy them to anything but let them self attach. True or not?

In the pictures of the group of small maximas, it almost looks like they were glued to the plugs.
Thanks for clarifying for me .
They are not glued to the plugs. Clams that like to attach to a hard substance (rocks in nature) will usually attack to a small rock or ceramic disk if you place them on top of it. Once they do that, you can move them around in the tank. Far easier than letting them attach to a large piece of LR.

Thank you! Appreciate the response. i believe I have very good conditions for my little Maxima. Fairly new tank but completely cycled. Tank is a 67 gallon, but it's only 18 inches deep and i have 2- 250 watt MH's over he tank. My calcium levels are over 450 as well.
Want to give this little guy the best environment possible.
Thanks again for clarifying that point for me. I set a smaller 1/2 clam shell in the sand bed and set him on it.
