Super reef octopus xp 2000 cone protein skimmer

I'm thinking of buying a used "Super reef octopus xp 2000 cone protein skimmer" for my new 120 SPS reef tank.
I see it's rated for 180 gallons, but in reality, will it be a good fit for a 120 gallon fully stocked SPS reef?
Right now I am using an "ASM G3" Is the Reef Octopus an upgrade over the ASM G3?
