super skimmer

I bought a "super skimmer" by coralife. Its a hang on skimmer. This thing creates so many micro bubbles inside my tank from the return water that goes through two types of sponges. Is there any way to reduce these? My tank is 50 gallons and the skimmer is for up to 125 gallons. I heard you want to double the size of your skimmer compared to the tank size. I had a "up to 65 gallon" skimmer and had the same micro bubble issue. If you google that type of skimmer you'll see the one I have. Is there any way to reduce these bubbles?

It is my understanding that skimmers can produce micro bubbles until they are broken in (1-2 weeks).
