I've followed a couple threads on modding the original and it seems that opening it up to allow more flow is was the key. If you ever looked at the input and outputs they're not quite 1/2", more like 3/8" if I remember right... That's a lot of restriction. Being able to use 1" fittings to hard plumb this one that shouldn't be an issue! Another big plus is the ability to service this one.

Way overdue-- I never liked the old design -- the small connections/flow restrictions kept me from purchasing.... I'd consider that one even at that price (which is a bit steep).
