Superman Monti bleaching..

When I got this guy last week he had some very nice blue color... he is starting to bleach out already.. I was wondering if maybe i light shocked him or maybe he is not in enough light... i have him in a 28g. with 4X24w t5's at about a foot deep... should I move him up more the other green birds nest i got seems to be fine they are are about 8 inches or so..what do you think ?

Also what type of flow should it be in ?

Personally I would move him down not up. And medium flow nothing too direct. IME

IME, more light is worse then less light for monti's. The two things that have caused my monti's to bleach were increased light and increased nitrates. When I moved my monti from my 90 to my 270, the light increased from 250 to 400w. I started it 24" from bulb on a 4 hour duration and it still bleached out a little. The good thing is with good parameters your frag should recover. Just be patient, they don't recover as fast as they bleach. Might take a few weeks. The sign for me that a sps is not coming back is the appearence of algae on the skeleton. At that point, if you piece is not fragable, the fight is probably lost. Good luck.
