Surf and turf bleaching

I did a 10 gallon water change on my 90 gallon today and also changed out the GFO and added carbon. Both GFO and carbon amounts are below the recommended needed by BRS. I come home tonight and notice that my surf and turf is bleaching out. What could have caused this?

My parameters are:

Ca 540
Mg 1440
Kh 6 I've been dosing the last week or two to attempt to raise this.
PH 8
PO 0

Thanks for any help!

If you bring your calcium down it would be easier to raise your alk, If either alk or calc is way high they have major effects on the other one as in being able to raise it. I like 420 for my calcium and 9 dhk for my alkalinity.

I've seen this happen on my tank before when changing GFO/Carbon, but it has only happened a couple of times. I have been careful to use proper dosage of GFO/Carbon, and find that taking extra care in rinsing the media before plumbing the reactors back into my tank seems to have preventing this from reoccurring again.
