So, I have a 120 marine land corner overflow with a 40 breeder sump. Return is a fluval sp4 split for dual returns over the back of the tank into 3/4 inch sea swirls. Other flow in tank includes 1 mp 40. My issue is I have a good amount of build up on the surface that is not being put into the overflow to be skimmed out. I have tons of flow I would think and there is a good amount of particles being pushed around the tank as well not being cleared out via carbon reactor in sump or skimmer or filter sock. So any solutions? I have heard of some people blocking the bottom part of the intake on the overflow box to increase surface skimming. This causes the water to only be able to get into the overflow through the top wire and not be pulled in through the bottom black vent.
