Surface skimming?

I would like to know if anyone has ever made and used an internal overflow box for a seaclone that fits a maxijet so that you can surface skim. What would be the correct size accrylic to use to make the overflow box?
I have a 25 gal sea horse tank that seems to collect crap on the surface and would like to be able to surface skim the water without drilling or adding another filter. I also have a maxijet 400 with the deflector facing up so that it turns the surface water. From the top it looks fine but from below it looks like crap. I do a 15-20% water change on it every week so that I can suck it up.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

if you can figure out some dimensions, i probably have enough scraps of black acrylic to throw something together. we could probably look at how CPR does theirs and go from there.
 
It is aprox a 5" D x 6" L x 2"W box with a 1" lip to hang over the tank. It is very close in there, but I think that is the only solution.
 
Sounds like the pre-skimmer I have for my Aqua-C Remora, except that it has a thumb screw that clamps on to the Maxi-Jet rather than hanging off the tank edge. Would something like that work ? If so you can try out with mine before Matt gets happy with his acrylic.

"Someone?" also make a surface skimming device, I used on the old air stone skimmers. (with great success) I have one in my shed, I have seen them on Ebay- but some LFS carry them. I will try to get back to you on them.. They will only work for low flow pumps.

I think that is just for filters, I was,am looking for somthing that can be attached to a seaclone 100 with a maxi jet 1200. I am hoping that the one that Shivaji has will give me somthing to work with. If that turns up a dead end then I am going to plumb the 25 into the 120 and place a small overflow box in the 25.
 
Thanks for the try Shivaji, I would have to do some mod to it to make it work. I think that I am going to plumb it into my 120.
So if you or anyone else has a small overflow box they are not using and are willing to part with, please let me know.
