surprise arrivals need some assistance

I stood up my QT tank today and in the process bought a mas of chaeto from the LFS, I knew I wouldn't need it all so I picked out good pieces that didn't have other things attached to it so I can get a good handful. In the process I found a few shell that I thought "oh cool, these might look nice in the tank one day" so I popped them in the QT. A few min ago I glanced over :uhoh2: :eek2: and see the shells moving.

I'm feeling really bad because I was not prepared for guests already but they are here so I want to take good care of them. But I'm not sure what they are other then a snail and a few maybe red hermit crabs. I'd appreciate an ID if possible and some advice to keep them alive. I can try and take more pictures when I can get better views.

Thanks so much

Yeah, at least one scarlet hermit. Can't see the other well enough to tell if it's a cerith snail or another hermit. They'll probably be ok. A lot of people QT invertebrates and it's good practice to do so. So you may want to keep them in your QT. If your QT hasn't been cycled or you aren't using media from an established tank, you might want to go ahead and put these guys in your display.

The shell on the right looks like a cerith snail. The other one appears to be a scarlet hermit crab. Both harmless.
