surprise I found cleaning out make up water bin

I had noticed recently some of my sps have not had real good color. So I started looking for reasons other then the usual water"paramerters" since those were not a problem. I first noticed a steel rod that was rusting away that is on the lid of my make up water bin and bin that I use to hold my skimmer. These are the 20 gal. brute bins.

I removed all said rods on one bin and started emptying water from the make up water bin to do the same on that one, when I noticed a round object on the bottom of the 2nd bin. It turns out it was a penny.

So now I am hoping after removing the steel hinges that were rusting away and removing the penny from the make up water bin things will get better. Dont ask how the penny got into the bin in the first place. That investigation was was answered with a bunch of I dont knows from the teen contingent.

good thought, aslo did a water change after the clean out and another on the day after.
