Sushi Thread!!!!!!!

You and your kicking reversal... ;) Reversals are for the weak... All hail the Sushi eating champ of the day... :D

62!!!!!!!!!

When I told my wife I ate 20 pcs she was amazed. Then I ran the list, ending with Randy's 62 (think I said 65). BTW, did anyone else get yellow tail on their first order? I dont know if I got the end or what, but my first pc was less than good. I ripped up my 2nd pc and soaked it a while and it was fine, little salty and wasabi but not ugh! fishy.

They cut their sushi thicker than I'd prefer ~ too much of a good thing in my book... but I think, they think, they are taking special care of us and giving us thick cuts. for me, it's got to be a happy medium.

Yeah, I like thick cuts too... Though for the sushi singles, that one slab of Octopus, I nearly choked on... :D

Okee doke... Been a while...

Feb 12th 6:30pm Sakura... :)

This is the last Tuesday night I have before my night classes start up again... :(

On a side note, Tomo now has all you can eat Mon-Thurs 5-7pm... :D

Tomo does? Weird.

Yeah they just started doing it recently... I haven't been yet... I figure I'll do it sometime after classes start since I still have Wed. nights off... :)

Randy, you realize this is like 2 days before Valentine's Day, right?

I was gonna go blow a ton on dinner at Northshore Brasserie with Nathan on V-day (shhhhh don't tell him where we're going...I haven't).

Mel, I went to the Brasserie last Thrs. Mighty good snails (if you havent had them, they are cooked in like french onion soup with mushrooms - ask for more bread like you get before the meal to soak up the delicious juice) and "duck two ways" is highly recommended.

Tomo has great sushi. IMO them and Nama are the 2 best in town. Tomo has had all you can eat for a while now but I think it used to be just Tues and Wed? FWIW Tomo has great prices for lunch....soup salad and 1, 2 or 3 rolls for like $6, $8 or $11. I'm guessing you guys all know about Nama's happy hour too right? 1/2 price maki and tamaki sushi every night 5 to 7.....plus 2 for 1 drinks. Just throwing it out there for the sushi loving crowd:D

BTW, Can we make a new thread for this? Preferably with the date and location in the title? I totally missed this, as others prob will too.

Don, I've had that duck a few times and I find it really hard to get anything else because that's SOOOOO good. Have you had their onion soup? If not...you are SERIOUSLY missing out, lemme tell ya.

I have been to Nama and I love their happy hour but it's TINY. If you don't get there right at 5pm, you can forget getting a table.

I'm burnt on Tomo...just my opinion, but I have been there a few times before Sakura. It's so hard for me to go eat sushi anywhere else too because I like Jing so much (even if it does take FOREVER). I think we've got a system worked out on that front though.

FWIW Nama just added the upstairs. The last 2 times we've been we haven't had to wait and we've gotten there at ~5:30......but I know what you mean, I definately wouldn't get there at 6:30 and plan on ordering before happy hour was over.
