That's so awesome, I would be terrified that thing would collapse on me or my kids playing under it... I know it engineered right... But that's a lot of weight...

For what we usually deal with, yes, but it sure isn't much when one considers industrial applications in comparison.
 
I sell those Insulator Rods here @ work. They are 36,000lbs rated each. And only cost about $60.00ea They are extremely durable. Ive seen containers of wire picked up with these. Its an amazing tank. I would love to see a build thread.
 
Could you imagine a total cantilever with no rods? How cool would that look? You would need steel eye beams through the wall with a zillion ton counter weight...
 
Crazy to think those rods have a 36K rating; I would have figured the majority of the weight was being held on a pivot point behind the wall.
 
As an engineer myself, I actually like being able to see the rods. It makes you appreciate the design, and can drum up some good conversation as people marvel at the tank being held up by cable...

Like exposed beams in an architecture's house...
