SW vs RO/DI

I just want to know why when doing a water change its better to use RO/DI instead of SW. Thats all.

SW? Spring water? Spring water can contain all sorts of chemicals etc. that you may not want.

I think maybe you mean for top-offs? The salt in the salt water doesn't evaporate. If you start adding more saltwater, you're just raising the SG in the tank. That will eventually kill everything, cause you'll basically have the dead sea in your pod.

If you are changing water then I would expect that you put in what you take out. So if you remove 10g of SW, you should be adding back 10g of SW.
