Swales Basslet

I'm thinking about getting a Swales Basslet. Does anyone have any experience with them? How colorful are they in person? I understand they're shy - do they come out into the open much?

Should behave like any other Liopropoma, meaning they will come out. My L. rubre now eats from my hand and its only been a week or two. I would guess they would look similar in person as they do in pics (gray and orange). Probably the cheapest of the Lio's.

Mine only swims in the open water during feeding.

I do have a lot of rock work in my tank, but have many caves and overhangs, because of this there is a number of areas where he will stay covered above by rockwork, but still in sight. This is the best tank set-up for this type of fish if you ever want to see it.

Mine has the orange stripes, and if your lighting is good the base of the body will appear a light purple. If your lighting is not that great they generally appear to have more of a silver base. Of course the actual fishes coloring sometimes are more or less striking as well.

One of my favorites, but not a fish that is going to be out front and showing off all of the time.

I've had mine for almost a year, but it never comes out of the caves that were dug by my giant engineer goby. I can find it almost every day or night, but perhaps I have too many fish and too good a cave structure for him to come out. He's a very pretty yellow/ white black spot combination, but I don't get to enjoy if much.
