Figured I'd share some my excitement with you guys. Pulled the trigger on one of these bad boys today, Im currently running the extreme 250 and I love it but that cone is just irresistibly sexy to me:) Plus Im curious to see what if any performance advantages a cone body has to a standard body, so I figured it would be nice to run them side by side for a bit. Not sure on a ship date yet but hopefully I will have some pics to share soon. For those that wanna drool along with me heres a pic from there site.

How can the same size neck and body handle all those pump combos?

The difference between one and two sicce pumps is drastic. So either the single sicce is not enough or the dual is too much.

My atb uses a single sicce for an 8" base diameter the swc cone is an 11" base so will the Single sicce be enough? When do you get it?

it's probably the only way to keep the cost down on a single piece cone... still pretty pricey too for a sicce pump chinese made skimmer (before you jump on me for saying that, I only mean the cost of production is less)

I'm really not sure myself if the single sicce will be enough but if its not I will pull a pump off my 250 and see how it handles 2 of them. You run a pinwheel or mesh on the atb? Not sure when I'll be getting it hopfulluy by next week.

I run a pinwheel CnC style, a good mesh job is almost double the air of a pinwheel 30% at least.

I agree it seems expensive but getting a mold done can't be cheap, I'd bet that the single pump price comes down around 600 soon enough, but who knows.

it's will work with 1 or 2 pump the things is that you will need to play with the water level in the skimmer body ......

I recall the Sicce pumps having starting issues. Personally I would have spent a little more and pick up a BK, ATB or H&S. All three and tried and true.

Even if you not mod good a Askol (laguna) pump you will get starting issues...

It's all depend how you modify the mesh on the pump, nothing else :)

Then that comes with more cost. He had good luck with SWC, so hes trying their cone. I love how everyone thinks its BK, or the other high end stuff, or bust.

It is less expensive to mold a con than to inject it .

You can get just the cone body from them for $200, and mod it yourself with a sicce or 2 or maybe an askoll. Either way it is cheaper to buy the body and design the skimmer how you want it than buying their cone as is.

Very cool, going to tag along and see what you think. I have an msx200 with single sicce so wonder how that bad boy will perform compared to a standard body or what your thoughts are.

I agree those are all great skimmers but I wanted a cone and the atb was nearly twice as much, plus I love the sicce pumps they are tried n true in my own personal experience. I have 3 of them that all run great and pull massive air.

Johnyblaze, are you a union operator?

Yup

Ya Im curious to see what the difference is between a cone a standard body with the same pump, definitely will post my opinions.

CRAP !!! the Askoll model is external !!!!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Features: An integrated bubble plate to help reduce turbulence within the skimmer body
An extra wide neck to allow for more air flow
A Wedge pipe is used to adjust the skimmer

This skimmer can be ran with in a sump or externally
