both - ballast mainly - but whole setups too either way - my brother needs the whole setup - i need the ballast and bulbs - also vho ho pc iam not picky - i have a bunch of tanks that need more light :-D
I have a brand new advance t5 electronic ballast for 1 or 2 4ft t5 bulbs for $20. $45-50 ballast but I only paid $20 so I am passing it along for the same price. I bought a lot of them so I could get mine at a discount and have sold all but this one. I will also have 4 more with reflectors and bulbs very soon. and 2 ballasts and 4 bulbs with reflectors for 3 ft very very soon.
hey carol if you still want to see the tank you might want to make it soon. I am thinking of just tearing it down and moving it into the garage until it sell. doesn't make alot of sense for me to keep paying for it's upkeep just so I can get more money out of it. thinking of just shutting it down . have to talk with the livestock buyer to see when.
Rob, does the advance ballast overdrive the T5's? I have been thinking I really don't need this IceCap running 2 54 Watt T5's right now and to go to something that will not overdrive my bulbs.
Hey Rob, how does Monday sound? I get blood transfusion stuff (IVIG) every Friday afternoon for 4 - 5 hours so needless to say I'm tied up right now. If Monday is good for you I'd love to come over and see your setup.
no they are programmed rapid start ballasts. they are meant to run t5's like they are designed to run. the bulb temperature is about 40-50 degrees F cooler with these instead of ice caps. at least in my set up this was the difference. they also fire them properly making them last longer. not a lot longer but longer
I'm really sorry to hear that you're selling it and getting out. I guess you know when it's not fun anymore, if the enjoyment is lost then yes. I hope you'll stick around to help us newbies - you have definitely helped me.
