Hmm . . . 3 sailfins . . . what do you think? Heck, why not 5? I think I need a bigger tank. Did they fight much when introduced and did you place them in all at the same time?
Xia - All 3 went in together. They reinforce the pecking order from time to time, but never fight. They're possibly from the same brood, as I got them from Exotic's last Red Sea shipment.
jewel - It's a stony/clam reef. Some say tangs are hit or miss, but I believe if their not kept well-fed, they'll resort to picking slime and mucus from corals and clams.
I have a purple tang, a yellow tang, a saifin tang, a scopa tang (thanks to Xia), a blue tang and a naso tang. They pretty much swim together most of the time.
Different species of tang is definitely doable, jewel. Multiples of the same tang can be tricky. depending on the species. PT's are renowned for their aggression.
we have a sailfin, powder brown, purple, orange shoulder and tomini in our tank.. I think that is all the tangs (maybe I need to go down and double check ).
There is only occassional aggression and nothing "premanent".. more like "stop touching me !!!!", a short chase and then back to nuetral corners
Oh, and the purple and orange shoulder are both monsters..especially the orange shoulder which was smaller than the purple when first introduced earlier this year.. now he is the "king" of the tank.
Here is a shot from a couple of weeks ago or so. You can see their relative size in relation to the other fish . Not the best picture, but it gives an idea of size.

They don't bother the feather dusters, clams, zoa, palys, LPS or SPS.. but they also don't bother the aiptasia which was part of the reason I put them in there
Sorry for the hijak Karl...
I know our tank can't compare with yours.. but "half amazing" ?!? We are actually going to do some re-aquascaoping to really open our tank up more.. more like yours, in fact. Hopefully I will be able to get that done by the end of this weekend
