So I want to change two of my white bulbs to purple to get the color I want. Will this effect the lights power? I run a current USA 8 bulb over a 75 and I plan on doing corals soon. Would two purple bulbs give me to much of a purplish look? I just don't like how white my lights are. All the bulbs are stock right now.

I too think the stock current bulbs are too white.
This is more art than science. The color will not effect the "power" but will change the "brightness" you see to the eye. PAR rating is what you really should measure.

You can either look for an eight bulb setuup already recommend by Grim or just ask.
He'll let you know what bulbs to change.
