Switching Salt

I was wondering what the best salt is i have used instant ocean for a couple months now...also if i wanted to could i change what salt i use without any adverse effects?

I see no reason to change, Ive been using IO for over 10 years. I do use Reef Crystals now, though its made by the same company and not all that much different, just slightly higher levels of certain elements. JMO of course, Ive tried a few different salts over the years, yet still ended up using IO or RC due to value and consistency.

Yeah... i was just wondering because i noticed reefcrystals costs a little more and if it would be worth switching to it

I use IO because I like to micro-manage my calcium and magnesium. Reef Crystals is a great salt though and many of us use it. You can switch between the two with no problem. You do need to watch it if you switch companies though as some of their buffer agents will react poorly when combined.

I go with Instant Ocean, mostly because it is a great deal at PetSmart. I don't really go through salt that fast though, so it doesn't end up making a huge difference. I previously used the "Aquatic Gardens" stuff from Petco, and it was just fine as well (though alot more expensive).
