Hello to all, I'm switching from MH o led and not sure which controller to use. Any suggestions would be great.

thanks,

Johnny

I have two radions up and running. Don't make this mistake of hanging them too high. I just adjusted my hight to 9" off the water, but it's too early to report on growth. Good luck with your purchase.

I have had my radions @ 8-9" since i started my 20 fusion..get great growth and color on my sps..only thing is the color is more intense on top, but they seem to like the light ok

I've Kessil 360we with it's controller... 12hrs a day from 10% to 75% at noon. it's been running 6month now and some sps growing and some not... but, I dont have great colors on sps's. my light is about 7" from the surface.

Budget permitting, Radions would be my first recommendation. Maxspect Razor with internal controller 2nd. The razor is not compatible with Apex or other controller.

Are Radions really worth the price. I built a DIY for one tank, bought 2x- Apollo Reef fixtures which started burning bulbs after a year. Growth was great, color just wasn't there. Have t5's now, but heat and electricity are issues. Thinking of 2 xr30pros for a 120g SPS tank.

Have you considered replacing the LEDs in the Apollos?

I have. One fixture is apart and I have all the replacement bulbs. Just haven't had the time. Been running the backup T5's for 6 months or so. Apollos were ok. My green birdsnest turned bluish. I'm seeing colors I've never seen before with the apollos. This tank was started on the apollos. Kinda discouraged with the colors. That's why I'm thinking Radions. Either way I should fix the apollos. Both fixtures had burnt bulbs. Thanks.

You will not replicate the color of t5 with the radions..that is the reason so many people are switching to t5..

When I moved from a 60g to a 160 I switched from 175w MH with 2 T5s to 4 Kessil a360we. I like the look and no heat and the electrical bill much better. I will say that most of my sps browned out for about 2-3 months then the colors started coming back. The only thing was the colors on some coral were completely different. I haven't read up on the science of it much but the Kessils tend to pull out greens, reds and teals. Most blues will be washed out.

Only issue I have encountered is that the lights are more focused which leads to a lot of shadowing, had many a coral start growing and reshaping based on available light, and big parts of sps dying off due to lack of light to those "spots"
