Swollen eye

it has popeye...I'm serious. you can QT the fish, but when I had a fish with it I just made sure I fed it a good diet of foods, soaked in selcon, keep water quality optimal and waited it out. Nothing is wrong with the fish now...went away in 2 weeks. I am not an expert on this, that just worked for me. Hopefully someone else can be more thorough about it.

never add anything straight to your display!! if you want to medicate him, get him out and QT him.

my true perc had a swollen eye, but it eventually went away in a few days, and i didn't do anything, except make sure that he was eating.

My Sabae had popeye once. I just kept an eye on him. It lasted about 2-3 weeks and went away on it's own. I did not use any meds or QT him. I didn't want to stress him even more. He healed on his own.

Popeye is inflammation that is caused by some stress or another. It can be caused by trauma or by infection. If you have noticed any aggression it probably has just been harrassed and injured its eye and this can heal by itself.

Try doing a few water changes, looking for any water quality issues or other stressors. If this doesn't work than they have an infection. Mardel's saltwater maracyn 2 should work and quarantine them for a couple of weeks and it should heal up.

I had a pair of black saddles and the male had popeye that never healed and this worked for me.

The thing about this condition is that it almost never causes any serious threat to the fishes health and it is best to be patient with the fish.
