Looking to run my 90gal tank with T-5's. Have read some threads but still not to familiar with what to buy for my tank. I will only have soft corals. Please let me know what I would need to run a 90gal 4' long tank. Also, if anyone is selling or knows someone selling please let me know

Thanks

NOVA's fixture is nice in that it comes w/ fans, moonlights, great price, etc....only problem is that it does not have individual reflectors so you lose lots of PAR....now, if you are only keeping soft corals you should have enough light but if you get into even caps or digi's you'll probably want to go with a TEK fixture.

good luck.

IMO, it's VERY important to pick the right bulb color combination. do your research on this. also the more bulbs the fixture has the more option you have to optimize the color to your liking.

The new Pro version does have individual reflectors they look something like this ^^^^^^ not the best but they are very bright with stock bulbs which are fine for most softies etc. Later they can be replaced with higher par bulbs. Also because it has 2 build in fans it will run cooler than the TEK. a local company i think has the lowest price on them webaquatics dot com. The Tek is very sharp looking and used by many on RC.

yeah if you go with tek i would no doubt add cooling fans....I just added two simple computer fans to mine running off of one ac adapter.

thats good to know that the nova has individual reflectors know....is it still one large piece with bends ...or are they actually individual? Id love to see the PAR on them...

I'd have to say a 90 gallon with softies only you could probably get away with any of the t5 fixtures. 4 or 6 bulbs. I had 4 bulb ind. reflector on icecap 660 over a 75 and had acro's growing happily... if you're thinking about upgrading in the future, I would just buy it right the first time...just my 2 cents!

is it one large piece with bends, not the best because not enough bends so some light is still reflecting on to itself and missing the tank.
