T-5 or PC

Which would be better? And how much better?

A 96W Finnex T-5 Fixture or a 96W Coralife PC fixture?

What would my growth advantages be also?

Thanks

What are you wanting to keep?

I don't know anything about T-5's but I can say I hated my PC never got the color out with the actinics, but that is JMO.

what size tank are you going to put the T-5's on, the 30gal?

Yes on the 30 gallon. I'd like to get some easy SPS and just better growth from the zoos and LPS I have.

I tried adding SPS to my nano where I had the 72 watts (2 -36) both 50/50 and all my SPS looked Brown.

That was with PC right? I have a good feeling that SPS won't work under PC's. I'm more interested in keeping LPS though and getting better growth from my zoos and the RBTA growing larger.

The Finnex has one big reflector - not individual for each bulb so they're not terribly bright. Someplace around here or SEASL (169) Chad has a MH pendent, bulb, and ballast for 30.00

im lon---what pc bulbs were you using. i used coralife and hamilton when i was running pcs and the coralife were just like you said, but the hamiltons gave great color and growth on everything

in fact, back when i had to replace my tank because it was coming apart at the seams, i moved all of my corals to a smaller tankt hat i had sitting around. i pulled the old pcs out and put them on this tank. i had been keeping my corals under 20k metal halide and 10k vho totalling a little over 700 watts. when i put the 220 watts of hamilton pcs over the corals, there were some that i had that had not done anything for months that grew out of control(keep in mind these pc bulbs had probably been run for 3 years so they were pretty far away from their prime)

just my experience

They were coralife.. now I wish I would have know about the other bulbs. I just took apart my canopy an added 3 NO bulbs. It was just for my Mushroom Nano. They didn't like that much light so I had to leave one of the 36watts out to get the mushrooms to even come out, just never liked the color. I had thought about leaving the 1 36 watt and Make it 10k and add 2 actinic NO bulbs.. I was shocked How much the NO bulbs actinic's put out.
