T-5?

I was looking to upgrade my nano. I ran into a 13" and 10" t-5. Is this possible? I just say the light bulb, and was checking to see if anyone saw this before?
T-5 link
Let me know if anyone has seen t-5 less than 24". This made me want to swap out my refufium light also. I am hesitant strictly due to access of the actual light bulbs, and what options I have. Any information will help.

Technically, a PC lamp is the same diameter as a T5 but is bent back to form a "U" shape. In Europe I believe that they are sometimes labled as T5's. I have not seen a 13" true T5 that we are using in the hobby that has all the benefits that the longer and sometimes overdriven tubes. What you are looking at is most likely a PC light. The link does not have a photo or it would not come up on my browser. For my nano, I have used the nanotuners products and they have worked well for me. I run PC's in mine but dont try to keep any real light lovers in there. I have also installed their lighting upgrade in my 12gl and have not had any problems. Keep in mind that OC's need to be changed out every 8-9 monhts.

You may find more info on the nano forum.

Thanks. The CRI rating on the HO T-5 has the same rating as the shorter 12" T-5. Thanks for the info though, seems like this is going to be a good 12g experiment. Will let you know how the progress goes when I swap out my lighting.

They'll probably be OK but without good reflectors, you lose the advantage that other T5 units have bringing them close to MH output .

Well I can get the Tek Reflector for like $20 and cut it to size, and use the smaller t-5's and that way I get a nano T-5 set up. I will link some pics when I get around to it. It would be a cheaper alternative than the viper with quality T5 lighting.

CRI has nothing to do with power. It's a color rendition index.
Those are Normal Output T5, you'll need twice the amound vs T5HO in watts.
