Hey All,
I have come to a conclusion!
I am going t5 yippie!
Alright, I've been looking at retro kits for my 40G breeder.
36"x18"x16"
I am looking to get 2x39W t5s with individual reflectors...
Should I go 4x39W t5's?
I would like to have a mixture of soft, and SPS...
I was at my LFS, and they had a 55G with 2x54w t5's,and that tank was bright!

I thought you were set on the sun pod? The belize sun is a nice fixture that would be exactly what you looking for..

yea the mh would be nice, you get more shimmer but also more heat. I have an 8 bulb t5 on my 75. Its a personal prefrence

4 T5's over a 40-breeder, so long as they are parabolic (ie, Icecap or TEK II) reflectors would be great.


Some folks use the Nova Extreme Pro 6-tube model, which is a good light.

One LFS in Raleigh has a 40-breeder with the Nova pro 6-tube and they grow everything from clams to sps to xenia in it---- it's one of the coolest reefs I've seen around here.

Personally I think the 4-tube is enough though.
