T5 endcap needed

My tek light went out this morning. I need (at least) one water resistant T5 endcap to repair it. Hopefully nothing more than that is wrong . . . anyone have one locally? I know I can order them (and I will to have on hand just in case this happens again) but I would sure like to get my light back into service before the zooxanthellae in my tank notice.

Thanks!

I don't have any extra, but if you find one let us know who carries them...Have you tried opending up the defective end cap? there isn't much to them...just two brass pieces and some plasic to keep them in place...it's possible that one of the brass conections poped out of place...I recieved one like this, and all I had to do was take it apart and put it back together...

The plastic broke out of this one.

I am finding them at www.thatfishplace.com for $9.99 per pair (Ice Cap brand). I order from them regularly, but their shipping charges are too high for a small order. At specialty lights.com, I can get one (Stucci brand - s/b same as icecap) for $6, however I've never dealt with them before & I haven't gotten far enough to figure out what they charge for shipping. Anyone here ordered from them?

I am also eyeing their T5 2 bulb retrofit . . . if I order both together there will be no shipping charge!

call Aqualife in Rocklin, they may have one on stock they can sell you. They had some when I was calling around for them :)

Resolution:

I discovered upon taking apart the unit that the stock endcaps are not waterproof. They appear to be "water resistant", but the endcap that was replaced by the previous owner of this unit is not even water resistant.

SO - as an immediate & temporary solution, I ran down to WalMart and purchased an inexpensive undercounter T5 fixture, broke it open & removed 1 endcap, which I installed in the Tek Light. It works. I have also orderd 4 pairs of waterproof endcaps from reefgeek.com. They offer the same price as Thatfishplace.com, and the shipping may be marginally less. Although I have not ordered from them before, I am hoping that, since they are in California instead of Pennsylvania, the package will arrive more quickly.

Thank you for your suggestions! :)

They have a long list of happy customers and get big raves from many, Im sure you will have the experience you expect. Glad everything worked out :)
