T5 lighting question??

I've been look for a fixture to upgrade my lights to t5s and came across the Odyssea fixture on aquatrader for only 109$. It seemed like a relatively good deal but the reviews seemed a little mixed with the LEDs going out after a few weeks. Does anyone happen to have this fixture and had good luck with it or been happy with the lighting? Thanks

Those fixtures are (Ballast, cabling, reflectors and bulbs) low quality. It will fire up, and you can improve it by getting better bulbs but it won't be as good as better fixtures.

It can work to keep some corals, but there have been issues with these fixture especially due to the use of under rated cables to lower the price. These cables might (or might not) start melting and cause failure (for some even small fires).

Oh I guess I will probably look around a bit more before deciding. I'm a college student so they seemed like a good price but it shows you pay for what you get..

When you are on a budget the low price is attractive, and there are people out there running these fixture without any failures. I am just being objective about their components and the worst possible consequences.

Even if you don't have any failures it is unrealistic to expect similar performance to higher quality fixtures. You could probably get it and make it work with better bulbs but you will end up getting something better at some point and spending what you paid for this fixture plus the better one.
