T5 Lighting

Is T5 lighting (2 x 24 watt 10k and 2 24 watt 460nm actinics) enough light on a 29 gallon for BTA? (tank is 30 x 12 x 16)
The light is a Current Sundial with individual reflectors.

Total of 96watts for a 29 gallon. General rule I have read is 3X watts for soft corals/LPS = 87 watts. Your tank is over 12" deep, I would think 145watts would be better. Granted you will only have about 26gallons of water in it after stocking max, plus if you have a 3" deep sand bed the light will only be penetrating 13" of water (if you do not use the legs and it is resting on the glass canopy). It could work I guess, that light fixture would be better on a 20 long. It may be a 30" hood, but the bulbs are only 23" long, so you will have a 3" gap on each side not fully illuminated.

From my personal experiance it should be fine. I have a number of anemones under 90w of T5 and all are doing well. Run carbon to eliminate any light blocking particles.
