im a pc person myself, in a tank that deep i think pcs would be better.
but if you like the idea of t-5's better it should be just fine

t6s are far superior to pcs in terms of heat and lumens produced per watt
dont even think about pc. read the t-5 lighting threads in the forum about lighting and filtration. i am in no way an expert, but from reading this, and numerous articles oin the web i have found the pc's are really sucky, the way the bulbs are shaped, they accually block alot of the light they produce. t-5 on the other hand with individual reflectors gives off WAY more light and way more par, which is more important thean wattage. but please check with someone like grim to see how many of what kind of bubls you should get, i jsut know that t-5 are a better choice for lighting than pc.

i am personally a big fan of t-5.i have a nova t-5 it does not have individual reflectors but it is still reall bright

keep in mind that the nova fixture comes with bulbs and the tek fixtures do not
The tank will be 24 X 16 and 16 in deep, so any 24" bulb will fit. I dont want to add any PC because i feel the same way some other do (that they dont arent that good), i have a corallife power quad (96W) and i dont like it and want to sell it :S

I hope this bit can help some fellow naner's. This is a few shots of those exact fixtures running in two VERY different setups.
First 2 pics are in my Sump, it was added because my other regular fixture fizzled it'self. The fixture is a 21w T-5 36" Coralife Aqualight T-5 double linear strip, just like this one http://www.hellolights.com/36aqt5dolist.html
It's a 20g tank, only about half full of water. So take that into acct. Here they are:
This second setup is in my 210 g (24" deep) freshwater setup, because, well, the lights are cheap as hell and REALLY make my fish's colors pop. It's a 28w T-5 48" Coralife Aqualight T-5 double linear strip, just like this one: http://www.hellolights.com/48aqt5dolist.html

The first pic is my pride and Joy, my Aulonocara stuartgranti (Usisya), I've spent many man hours driving all across the state looking for a good mate. (I breed Africans)

You want HO's.. most of the T-5's being sold on the online fish sites are HO. IMO with just wanting to keep softies and LPS you don't need to get the top of the line models. I think you would be fine with the single reflector type set ups. However if you think you will ever be interested in keeping SPS or clams invest in a good T-5 like an SLS or Icecap set up now inseading of having to reinvest in your lighting.
