T5 nova extreme users, hows the reef doing?

just trying to get a read on what people think of this fixtures, at least those who actually have and use them.


how are your corals doing?

which do well and which dont?

what size tank are you running it over?

what are your overall feeling about the fixture and its performance?

At work T5 actualy brings out the colour of our corals much better than metal haldies and for soem reason LPS love it mroe than they do haldioes

I don't have that much coral. I do have some zoo place on the sand about 18"-+ from the light. Seems to really love the light. my tank is a 30 g long and i have the 36" 4x t5 version. i really can't complain about anything with this fixture. might change the bulbs to give me a more blue look. they come with 2x 10000k daylight and i might switch one out for a blue+.

Just posted about this in the DIY forum...

To me, the fan is unnessecarily loud. I want to be able to switch it out for a quieter one.

I got all of my flow and pumps nice and silent, but then the fan kicks on...

Also only slightly frustrated that the fan and moonlights both have a huge transformer that partly covers neighboring outlets. Kind of irritating considering that slimmer ones are more prolific now.

As far as actual lighting goes, looks very nice, but since I have no corals yet, can't be much help there.
