T5 or MH or Both

Hello all -

I am contimplating building my own canopy with the lights installed in it. While I will reserach the actual build elsewhere, I was wondering how much and what type of lighting eveyone recommends.

If you look in my signature you can currently see what I'm working with.

I plan on selling the current light fixture as I'd like to build my own into a canopy.

I do not currently have any corals in my tank other than some button polyps that were on some of my rock. I would like to get into SPS.

Please make suggestions as to how much and what type of lighting i should get!!! Make note that my tank is rather deep (from canopy to sand bed).

I would think you have enough light now for most corals. A third 250W MH would be an option if you want SPS or clams, 29" is deep, so they may need to be kept a little higher in the tank.

Would bleaching of corals be an issue??? Will the colors sill "pop" with only MH. I've been reading that T5 is the way to go for color...

to much white will bleach some color or brown them out or green them out...what k bulbs are you burnin?
