T5 Question/Clam Question

I have a 72G bowfront with a SLS Tek 4x54W normally driven light fixture. My lights are (front to back)
AB
UVL SA
B+
B+

I recently (admittedly without much research ) added a small crocea clam to the mix. I currently have the clam at mid tank level. Is this enough light to sustain the little guy? If it really isn't, I can get the guy to someone with more light no problem.

Assuming that I am okay... At the time I researched (about a year ago), this was a pretty commonly suggested light configuration for my fixture. Have there been any developments or has anything changed? Is there an improved light combo to go with? I like the flourescing (sp?) of the UVL, and the blue look of the two blueplus lights combine with the aquablue.

Crocea clams are the most light demanding clams and more light demanding than many SPS. From what I've researched about them, they do ok with T5s but they don't thrive without good MH lighting. Of course, there may be some who have had good success with them and T5s. I would upgrade your lighting to either include more T5s or a MH.

What's with the "they can't thrive without MH".

You need to do some more research. People are even having great success with LED's

Anyways, my crocea is doing great on the bottom and slightly shaded. I do have all overdriven lamps, though. I think yours will be fine where it is at.

Oh, and I think my system blows a comprable MH setup away, of course

Thanks for the help. I figured that I would be okay... may not be the super ideal, but I did believe it would suffice. If it starts to look like it isn't doing well, I will get it out of there asap.

Now, about the lights... is there a better recommended setup than what I have running? It is about time to replace my bulbs.
