Would one 80 watt five foot t5 sunlight suppy retro kit be enough light to cover my six foot tank with enough blue light to color my corals at 20 inches deep of water...and a maximum of 12 inches at the top of my canopy...

Mostly I want to add a blue t5 (actinic) to provide some sort of aesthtic sunrise and sunset effect...I don't need anything incredibly bright since I already have 3 175w MH's...

SHould this give me an even tone throughout the tank as well as a strong enough of a light that I will be able to she my corals flouresce even the ones at the very bottom of a maximum height that could reach 32"inches...(20"inches in water depth and 12"max in canopy depth)...

-Or would a 2-54 watt T5 fixture be any different overlapped in a way...

-I was also thinking that I could possibly angle and mount the reflector near the lip of the canopy (about 3-4 inches above the lip of the tank or where the canopy sits on the tank ) and angle the reflector to point downwards at a 45 degree angle at the back of the tank or the rocks in this case...( Would this prove to better)

please help???

I think it would be a great dawn/dusk affect. Though being 12" above water is not very good unless your above shallow water, which in your case yours is not. For the light to be best utilized you'll want it no higher than 6", ideally between 3-5" ; if you can achieve this the light will definately be sufficient for a 20" depth, and will also allow you to shave off an hour or so from your MH time and save a lil energy, and make the light less of a stress on your fish when it goes on and off. For a single good PAR bulb I would suggest UVL's superactinic. Not as much of a blue wash as the actinic+(blue+ respectively) and not as dim as the True Act. 03 version.
