T6 Fixture running T5 lamps

Can you run T5 lamps in a fixture designed for T6 ? How do T6 lamps compare to T5 lamps ? Better,Worse or about the same ?

I believe that T6 is a different connector - more like the old T8 & T12. IIRC, T6 is available as VHO, while T5 is mostly HO, T6VHO would be brighter than T5HO. On the third hand, people overdrive T5, too.
