T6 lighting by Quantum Aquatics.

Looking through a mag tonight and noticed they are carrying Lightining Rod T6 bulbs. All different types of colors available.
http://www.petsolutions.com/Ultimate+Reef+T6+Lamp-I-74000114-I-.aspx What do we think of these bulbs. I've read a few articles on them and they are suppose to be as good as the t5 but work on standard ballasts. Thoughts?

they really arent anything special.... dont seem to be any brighter than t-8 or even t-12 IMHO.. although they are supposed to produce more lumens b/c of their geometry..

nevertheless, the colors are somewhat unimpressive too...guess im used to VHO, which is far better.

now if t-6 VHO's came out..that would be a different story.

I guess it just seemed to good to be true. Thanks. I emailed them about the bulbs, we'll see what they say.

yep, too good to be true..thats what i said when i saw them fired up... i just "shrugged my shoulders"

Those were my thoughts when I saw the Tek Light fixture when I got it in the mail. More like seriously disappointed. Oh well!

i am quite happy with my t5hos, but when the t6 ho come out, well, then there may be something new to try
