T8 lights worth using?

Are T8 lights good enough for a SW tank? I have a 48" 55gal with just fish and 2 almost freebie low light plants in it, and figured this would be good enough. Did some looking on T8 vs T5 bulbs, and if I understood T5 is massively brighter and smaller sized, and T8 is geared towards FW tanks.

I got a light fixture pretty cheap, knowing it prolly wasn't exactly what I'm looking for, but it was cheap and would be better then the fluorescent bulbs I currently have in it. This is the lable on it

It seems to be more of an office / warehouse setup, but it looks nice and has a nice reflection to it. Couldn't find it on their web site tho...

If it works, what lights would I need for it? Or would it be better to sell it to a FW user and get a new fixture? I'll post pictures tomorrow when I don't have to get to bed.
