Taking wild plants/animals from the ocean

Hello - is there anything like a "fishing license" required to pick some small quantities of marine plants (like halimeda or shave brush plants) or sea animals (think hermit crabs or cerith snails) for keeping as pets in my home aquarium?

I have checked Florida Fish and Wildlife
Conservation Commission but I cannot find a clarification.

Anybody studied this subject already?
I would appreciate any advice...

What they all said above. I would recommend dipping anything that you take from the ocean before it goes in your tank. I have some first-hand experience with it not going so well

Thank you all - very helpful info.

I have not found any restrictions on bringing such items with me traveling home to Illinois or shipping it home directly. Are there any concerns with that?
