Talk to me about Pink Square Spot Anthias (Pseudoanthias pleurotaenia)

elegance coral

They call me EC
Thinking about adding a trio of these when my 200 is up and running.
What are the pros and cons of this species?
Do they get along with other anthias?
Do they keep their color?
Are they good community tank inhabitants?
As always, if you have pic's, I'd love to see them.
Thanks
EC

They are big. they do keep their color if fed properly. They are just like a big version of lyretails...same habits, same grouping, or lack there of, behavior, IME.

Thanks Peter.

Do you think a male Pink Square Spot would get along with my male Lyretail? Right now my Super male Lyretail rules the tank. Well, except the area around the percula eggs. Momma clown rules that territory with an iron fin. LOL

Here is my female. She eats everything. I haven't ever had any other anthias so I can help you there. She has kept her color very well and I only feed here twice a day, once NLS pellets and once frozen mix. She is semi aggressive but mainly only when shes hungry and twords my single green chromis. She really hates that fish for some reason. Doesnt really mess with my fairy or flasher wrasses. Great fish overall. Im upgrading to a larger tank soon and will hopefully try out a male with her. Sorry my picture isn't great, im no photographer.

I've just added a male square in my 265 with an established trio of lyretails, also a sub male hutchi.. The male lyretail is not a big fan of the squarespot but they seem to be settling down. I'll try and post some pics tomorrow. lights are already off for the night.

Thanks for the help. I'm trying to set up a tank full of peaceful fish. It's turning out to be harder than I expected. Any help greatly appreciated.

just got home , please forgive the poor phone photo. I will add that the squaresport is a bit smaller than the lyretail yet still holds his own.
